Fujian travel guide

4.1
Shopping · Historic Sites · Mountains
Stretching along the southeast coast of mainland China, Fujian's many beaches offer great opportunities for water sports during the summer months. With old mountains peeking up behind the shore, a tour of Fujian usually includes an exploration of the World Heritage Site geopark featuring strange rock formations, combined with a visit to major Taoist and Buddhist pilgrimage centers nestled in the mountains. Great hikes and scenic rides on bamboo rafts are also popular, with some fascinating tribal villages to see en route. The province's large urban centers provide modern entertainment for visitors not so interested in getting out among nature.
