Trikala is a city in northwestern Thessaly, Greece, and the capital of the Trikala regional unit. Start off your visit on the 18th (Thu): visit Old City of Trikala and then take in the views from Lithaios Central Bridge. Athens to Trikala is an approximately 4.5-hour car ride. Traveling from Athens in June, Trikala is little chillier at night with lows of 19°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Fri) so you can drive to Kalambaka.

The gateway to one of the largest monastery complexes in Greece, the small town of Kalambaka nestles against a landscape of imposing rock formations rising 400 m (1,300 ft) into the air. Nearly leveled during World War II, the town rebuilt and reinvented itself in the post-war period, quickly becoming one of the region's major travel destinations.
