6 days in Sapporo Itinerary

A modern, bustling city known for its beer brewery, Sapporo attracts millions of visitors with its Snow Festival, during which elaborate ice and snow sculptures are exhibited all over town.

Get out of town with these interesting Sapporo side-trips: Nishikiyama Temmangu (in Ebetsu), Jigokudani (in Noboribetsu) and Otaru Canal (in Otaru). There's lots more to do: walk around Odori Park, get engrossed in the history at Historical Village of Hokkaido (Kaitaku-no Mura), get a sense of history and politics at Former Hokkaido Government Office Building, and take some stellar pictures from Mt. Moiwa.

If you are flying in from Malaysia, the closest major aiports are New Chitose Airport, Asahikawa Airport and Hakodate Airport. In June, daily temperatures in Sapporo can reach 20°C, while at night they dip to 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Sat) to allow time to travel back home.
