A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.

Norfolk, USA to Rincon is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Atlantic Standard Time (AST), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Traveling from Norfolk in July, plan for a bit warmer nights in Rincon, with lows around 80°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Wed) early enough to drive to Ponce.

Ponce is both a city and a municipality in the southern part of Puerto Rico. On the 1st (Thu), admire the landmark architecture of Cathedral of our Lady of Guadaloupe, then admire the masterpieces at Museo de Arte de Ponce, then see the interesting displays at El Museo Castillo Serralles, and finally make a trip to Casa Wiechers-Villaronga.

You can drive from Rincon to Ponce in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and shuttle. Expect a daytime high around 86°F in July, and nighttime lows around 76°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 1st (Thu) so you can travel to Culebra.

With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Fri): enjoy the sand and surf at Zoni Beach and then enjoy the sand and surf at Tamarindo Beach.

Getting from Ponce to Culebra by combination of shuttle and flight takes about 3.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of shuttle and ferry. In August, daytime highs in Culebra are 89°F, while nighttime lows are 80°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Fri) so you can catch the flight to San Juan.

On the 3rd (Sat), appreciate the history behind Paseo de los Presidentes, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Paseo de la Princesa, and then see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour. On the 4th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: enjoy the sand and surf at Balneario Luquillo and then stroll the grounds of Santa Maria Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery.
