City of Roses

A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Shop till you drop at Live Laugh Love Art and Northwest (Nob Hill). Explore hidden gems such as Forest Park and Willamette River Trail. Venture out of the city with trips to Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center (in Stevenson), Beacon Rock (in North Bonneville) and Cascade Locks (Bonneville Hatchery & Sturgeon Viewing Pond and Interpretive Center). There's still lots to do: admire the sheer force of Wahkeena Falls, learn about winemaking at Mt. Hood Winery, experience rural life at The Gorge White House, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Portland Women's Forum State Scenic Viewpoint.
