6 days in Portland & Bangor Itinerary

Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.

Get a sense of the local culture at Victoria Mansion and St. Ann's Episcopal Church. Take a break from the city and head to Walker's Point and Fishing Charters & Tours. Go for a jaunt from Portland to Kennebunkport to see Ocean Ave about 44 minutes away. There's much more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Casco Bay, sample the tasty concoctions at Shipyard Brewing Company, contemplate the long history of Wadsworth-Longfellow House, and enjoy the sea views from Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse.

Omaha to Portland is an approximately 8.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Omaha to Portland. While traveling from Omaha, expect a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Portland, ranging from highs of 62°F to lows of 43°F. You'll have a few hours on the 16th (Fri) to wrap things up before traveling to Bangor.
