Port of Spain, the country's capital, sits between the sea and a scenic green mountain range, and acts as a gateway for eclectic adventures on land and sea.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Fort George and Tyrico Bay. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Indian Caribbean Museum of Trinidad and Tobago are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore Port of Spain's surroundings by going to Avocat Waterfall (in Blanchisseuse), Chaguaramas Military History and Aerospace Museum (in Chaguaramas) and Arima Dial (in Arima). The adventure continues: kick back and relax at Maracas Beach, explore the wealth of natural beauty at Caroni Lagoon National Park, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and make a trip to Queen's Hall.

To find maps, where to stay, and tourist information, go to the Port of Spain day trip planning tool .

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major airport is Piarco International Airport. In September in Port of Spain, expect temperatures between 92°F during the day and 75°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
