Often referred to as Iceland's second city, Akureyri offers an array of cultural attractions in a scenic setting.
Take a break from Akureyri with a short trip to Grjotagja Cave in Reykjahlid, about 1h 10 min away. There's still lots to do: capture your vacation like a pro with an inspiring photography tour, take in nature's colorful creations at Arctic Botanical Gardens (Lystigardurinn), admire the sheer force of Goðafoss Waterfall, and explore the activities along Lake Myvatn.

Dusseldorf, Germany to Akureyri is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or do a combination of car and ferry.
