Lyon

— 5 nights

Culinary Capital of France

Lyon is a historical city with a vibrant cultural scene as the birthplace of cinema, the silk capital of the globe, and the second biggest Renaissance city following Venice.
Visit Cite medievale de Perouges and Cathedrale saint Jean-Baptiste for their historical value. Fresque des Lyonnais and Cite du Chocolat Valrhona will appeal to museum buffs. Change things up with these side-trips from Lyon: Palais Ideal du Facteur Cheval (in Hauterives), Monastere Royal de Brou (in Bourg-en-Bresse) and Collegiale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul (in Saint-Donat-sur-l'Herbasse). There's much more to do: ponder the design of Place des Jacobins, step into the grandiose world of Chateau Historique de Pierreclos, pause for some serene contemplation at Eglise Saint-Martin, and get in on the family fun at Mini World Lyon.
