Protected from the Atlantic by sand spits and barrier islands, Lagos quickly grew into a mega city due to its location, and currently operates one of the continent's largest and busiest ports.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Wed): browse the eclectic array of goods at Lekki Market, then identify plant and animal life at Lekki Conservation Centre, and then stroll around Freedom Park Lagos.

The sprawling city of Port Elizabeth, nestled on the scenic Algoa Bay, draws visitors with its sandy beaches, mild climate, and an enviable location as the gateway to the famous Garden Route.
Spend the 10th (Fri) spotting exotic species with a safari tour. Spend the 11th (Sat) in the pleasant surroundings of Shamwari Game Reserve.
