Famous for the groves of coconut trees from which it takes its name, Kovalam offers a long, white sandy beach on the Arabian Sea.
Kick off your visit on the 29th (Fri): stroll through Lighthouse Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Kovalam Beach, and then stroll through Hawa Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, see the interesting displays at Puthenmalika (Kuthiramalika) Palace, and then indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas.

New Delhi to Kovalam is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and taxi. When traveling from New Delhi in January, plan for somewhat warmer days in Kovalam, with highs around 36°C, while nights are much hotter with lows around 27°C. You will have some time to spend on the 31st (Sun) before leaving for Kanyakumari.

Located at the most southerly point of mainland India, Kanyakumari has long attracted pilgrims and those keen to see the end of the road.
Start off your visit on the 31st (Sun): get great views at Sunset View Point and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Bhagavathy Amman Temple. Keep things going the next day: kick back and relax at Kanyakumari Beach, then pause for some photo ops at Thiruvalluvar Statue, then don't miss a visit to Vivekananda Rock Memorial, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Jain Temple Kanyakumari.

Drive from Kovalam to Kanyakumari in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of taxi and train. January in Kanyakumari sees daily highs of 36°C and lows of 27°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Mon) so you can drive to Rameswaram.

A trip to Rameswaram on Pamban Island will take you across a long limestone shoal bridge with spectacular ocean scenery.
Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Tue): take in the spiritual surroundings of Arulmigu Ramanatha Swamy Temple, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Dhanushkodi Beach Point, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Ruined Temple/Church of Dhanushkodi.

One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Madurai sits on the banks of the River Vaigai and serves as a center of Tamil culture.
Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Wed): take in the spiritual surroundings of Tirupparankunram, gain insight with a tour of cultural highlights, and then see the interesting displays at Gandhi Memorial Museum.
