Dunoon

— 5 nights
Dunoon is the main town on the Cowal peninsula in the south of Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Change things up with these side-trips from Dunoon: Dunans Castle (in Glendaruel), Loch Eck (in Loch Eck) and Kilmodan Church (in Colintraive). There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Puck's Glen, admire the natural beauty at Benmore Botanic Garden, get outside with The Bishop's Glen, and take a peaceful walk through Argyll Forest Park.

To find other places to visit, photos, more things to do, and other tourist information, use the Dunoon holiday maker.

London to Dunoon is an approximately 5-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. Expect a bit cooler temperatures when traveling from London in July; daily highs in Dunoon reach 22°C and lows reach 12°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 31st (Fri) to allow time for travel back home.
