6 days in Colombo Itinerary

The commercial capital of the country, Colombo has added modern touches to its colonial-era core, creating an exciting and eclectic coastal city.

Head to Sri Lanka Ryoko and Shobafor some retail therapy. Popular historic sites such as Galle Fort and Gangaramaya (Vihara) Buddhist Temple are in your itinerary. Get out of town with these interesting Colombo side-trips: Negombo Beach (in Negombo), Saint Mary's Church (in Galle) and Kowilawatta Temple (in Balapitiya). Spend the 5th (Fri) spotting exotic species with a safari tour. There's lots more to do: stroll through Bentota Beach, kick back and relax at Mount Lavinia Beach, take in nature's colorful creations at Brief Garden - Bevis Bawa, and stroll around Galle Face Green.
