City of Heroes

The site of the continent's first Spanish colony, Cartagena retains much of its colonial flavor thanks to a World Heritage-listed old town, encircled by old walls and protected by imposing fortresses.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Caribe Jewelry Museum & Factory and Museo del Oro Zenu. Visit Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas and Plaza Santo Domingo for their historical value. When in Cartagena, make a side trip to see Playa Blanca in Isla Baru, approximately Isla Baru away. Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the long history of Walled City of Cartagena, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Convent of Santa Cruz de la Popa, pause for some serene contemplation at Sanctuary of Saint Peter Claver, and make a trip to Plaza Bolivar.
