Known for its prime north coast location and elegant city center, Santander remains the central destination for tourism and commerce in the whole Cantabrian region.

Explore Santander's surroundings by going to Museo de Altamira (in Santillana del Mar), Iglesia de Santa Maria de Los Angeles (in San Vicente de la Barquera) and Comillas (El Capricho de Gaudi & Palacio de Sobrellano). Spend the 16th (Sun) exploring nature at Peninsula of Magdalena. Barcelona to Santander is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Barcelona in August, things will get a bit cooler in Santander: highs are around 26°C and lows about 19°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 18th (Tue) so you can go by car to Espinama.
