An industrial town nicknamed "the French Manchester," Mulhouse is famous for its Peugeot factory, esteemed museums, Alsace wine, and cultural riches.
Get out of town with these interesting Mulhouse side-trips: Colmar (Eglise St-Martin, Old Town, & more), Vieille Ville (in Riquewihr) and Eguisheim (Vieille ville d'Eguisheim & Chateau Saint Leon). And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Cite de l'Automobile, pick up some local products at Marche du Canal Couvert, and meet the residents at Parc Zoologique & Botanique de Mulhouse.

Milan, Italy to Mulhouse is an approximately 4.5-hour car ride. Expect little chillier evenings in Mulhouse when traveling from Milan in April, with lows around 5°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 25th (Thu) so you can catch the train to Strasbourg.

Strasbourg is famous for its beautiful historical center, the Grande Île, which was the first city center classified entirely as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
On the 26th (Fri), get a sense of history and politics at European Parliament Strasbourg, step into the grandiose world of Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at La Montagne des Singes. On the next day, make a trip to Barrage Vauban, take a stroll through La Petite France, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedrale Notre Dame de Strasbourg, and finally stroll through Parc de l'Orangerie.

Take a train from Mulhouse to Strasbourg in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In April, daytime highs in Strasbourg are 19°C, while nighttime lows are 5°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 27th (Sat) early enough to go by car back home.
