Along the Dalmation Coast, the city of Dubrovnik has become famous for its pedestrian-only Old Town surrounded by fortress walls, and its historical heft has earned it World Heritage Site status.
Take a break from Dubrovnik with a short trip to Cavtat Old Town in Cavtat, about 34 minutes away. There's much more to do: wander the streets of Old Town, get some thrills on the water with a speed boat tour, indulge your senses at some of the top wineries in the area, and get engrossed in the history at Rector's Palace.

You can drive from Ston to Dubrovnik in an hour. Another option is to take a bus. When traveling from Ston in June, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Dubrovnik: temperatures range from 79°F by day to 65°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel to Dugi Island.
