Osato-cho is very close to Ohira-mura. In January, plan for daily highs up to 40°F, and evening lows to 36°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 15th (Tue) early enough to travel back home.

A modern, bustling city known for its beer brewery, Sapporo attracts millions of visitors with its Snow Festival, during which elaborate ice and snow sculptures are exhibited all over town.
Kick off your visit on the 16th (Wed): take in the architecture and design of Hokkaido University Sapporo Campus, then get a sense of history and politics at Former Hokkaido Government Office Building, then take a stroll through Susukino, and finally take in panoramic vistas at Sapporo TV Tower. On the 17th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: tour the pleasant surroundings at Mt. Okura Observatory and then explore the activities along Otaru Canal.
