Miyakojima

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.

Onna-son

Traveling from Onna-son in October, you will find days in Yakushima-cho are little chillier (30°C), and nights are about the same (23°C). Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Sat) to allow time to fly to Shari-cho.

Shari-cho

Tourism in Shari-cho, a small town situated on Hokkaido's eastern tip, flourishes mainly because of its immediate proximity to the Shiretoko World Heritage Site.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Kamuiwakka Hot Waterfall and Road to Heaven. Step out of the city life by going to Shiretoko Misaki and Lake Mashu. Take a break from Shari-cho with a short trip to Abashiri Prison Museum in Abashiri, about 1h 20 min away. There's still lots to do: explore and take pictures at Shiretoko Pass and explore the activities along Shiretoko Goko Lake.

Traveling by flight from Yakushima-cho to Shari-cho takes 9.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and car. In November, Shari-cho is colder than Yakushima-cho - with highs of 7°C and lows of 1°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Tue) so you can catch the flight to Ito.

Not too far from the capital, Ito has developed a reputation as a resort town, with a fair portion of its area lying within a national park.
Get outdoors at Shirahama Beach and Tatadohama Beach. Step off the beaten path and head to Nature & Wildlife Tours and Omuro Mountain Lift. Get out of town with these interesting Ito side-trips: Kinomiya Shrine (in Atami), Hakone Shrine / Kuzuryu Shrine Singu (in Hakone-machi) and Mishima Taisha (in Mishima). When traveling from Shari-cho in November, plan for a bit warmer days and much hotter nights in Ito: temperatures range from 19°C by day to 17°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Mon) early enough to drive to Matsumoto.

Matsumoto
