Copenhagen

— 56 nights

City of Beautiful Towers

Founded in the 10th century as a Viking fishing village, Copenhagen has morphed into the cultural, political, and economic powerhouse of the country.
Appreciate the collections at Davids Samling (The David Collection) and M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark. Thorvaldsens Museum and Grundtvig Church (Grundtvigs Kirke) are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Copenhagen: The Karen Blixen Museum (in Rungsted), Hillerod (Frederiksborg Slotskirke, Det Nationalhistoriske Museum, &more) and Helsingoer (Helsingor Havn, Kronborg, &more). On the 30th (Wed), spend a musical evening at Bakken - World's Oldest Amusement Park. The adventure continues: see the interesting displays at Stevns Klint, take in the waterfront at Islands Brygge, explore the world behind art at The Hirschsprung Collection (Den Hirschsprungske Samling), and stroll through Amager Strandpark.

For other places to visit, photos, ratings, and other tourist information, read our Copenhagen day trip planning app.

If you are flying in from Colombia, the closest major aiport is Copenhagen Kastrup Airport. In August, daily temperatures in Copenhagen can reach 25°C, while at night they dip to 14°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
