A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
Step out of the city life by going to Gyeongpo Beach and Seoraksan National Park. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Ojukheon and Daegwallyeong Museum. Explore Gangneung's surroundings by going to Chuam Beach (in Donghae), Pyeongchang-gun (Phoenix Snow Park & Lee Hyo Seok Literature Forest) and Yangyang-gun (Naksan Beach & Naksansa Temple). One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Explore hidden gems such as Cheonmachong Tomb and Donghwasa. Bulguksa Temple and Seoknamsa Temple are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with these side-trips from Gyeongju: Juwangsan National Park (in Cheongsong-gun), Eunhaesa Temple (in Yeongcheon) and Ulsan Theme Botanic Garden (in Ulsan). Traveling by car from Gyeongju to Busan takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. When traveling from Gyeongju in February, plan for somewhat warmer days in Busan, with highs around 48°F, while nights are slightly colder with lows around 31°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Mon) early enough to drive to Suncheon.

Establishing a name for itself as "Korea's Ecological Capital," Suncheon sits nestled on the southwest coastline of the Korean peninsula, a haven of scenic beauty.
Hyangiram Hermitage and Nagan Eupseong Folk Village are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Mudeungsan National Park and Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserve. Explore Suncheon's surroundings by going to Yeongchwisan Mountain (in Yeosu), Boseong Green Tea Field Daehan Dawon (in Boseong-gun) and Unjusa (in Hwasun-gun).
