Known worldwide as the hometown of Jesus Christ, Nazareth draws flocks of pilgrims who come to see the place where Christ grew up, and follow his footsteps along the Jesus Trail.
Attractions like The Church of the Annunciation and Bet She'an National Park make great kid-friendly stops. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Nazareth: Ein Harod (Ski baGilboa & Mishkan Museum of Art), Ma'ayan Harod National Park (in Gidona) and Acre (Hamam El Basha Museum, Citadel of Acre, &more). Spend the 7th (Wed) exploring nature at Zippori National Park. There's much more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Nazareth Village, explore the ancient world of Tel Megiddo National Park, take in the awesome beauty at Mount Tabor, and get great views at Mt. of Precipice Lookout Point.

Tel Aviv to Nazareth is an approximately 1.5-hour car ride. In April, plan for daily highs up to 28°C, and evening lows to 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 30th (Fri) early enough to drive to Safed.

The birthplace of the Kabbalah movement, Safed boasts a mystical and spiritual heritage as one of the country's four holy cities.
Bring the kids along to The Old City of Safed and Hula Nature Reserve. Explore Safed's surroundings by going to The Ancient Galilee Boat (in Ginosar), Capernaum (The Church of the Twelve Apostles, The House and Church of St. Peter, &more) and Kinneret (The Majrasa, Yardenit, &more). The Northern District is one of Israel's six administrative districts. The Northern District has a land area of 4,478 km², which increases to 4,638 km² when both land and water are included. The district capital and largest city in the North District is Nazareth.The Golan Heights has been run as a sub-district of the North District of Israel since the 1981 Golan Heights Law was passed, although its de facto annexation is not internationally recognized, and the unenforced United Nations Security Council Resolution 497 declared the annexation invalid. Excluding the Golan Heights, which is 1,154 km² in area, the land total comes to 3,324 km² (3,484 km² including water).DemographicsAccording to the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics data for 2011: Total population: 1,304,600 Ethnic : Arabs: 693,700 Jews: 572,600 Others: 38,300 Jews: 572,600 Muslims: 498,700 Druze: 104,500 Christians: 92,800 Not classified: 34,400 As such, the North District is the only district in Israel where the majority of inhabitants are Arabs.
