Copenhagen

City of Beautiful Towers

Founded in the 10th century as a Viking fishing village, Copenhagen has morphed into the cultural, political, and economic powerhouse of the country.
Step off the beaten path and head to The Open Air Museum and Kayaking & Canoeing. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Copenhagen: Roedvig (Cold War Museum Stevnsfort & Rodvig Skibsmotormuseum), Rudolph Tegners Museum (in Dronningmoelle) and Store Heddinge (Holtug Kridtbrud, Stevns Klint, &more). There's still lots to do: take in the waterfront at Islands Brygge, examine the collection at Sporvejsmuseet Skjoldenaesholm, stroll the grounds of Assistens Cemetery, and take in nature's colorful creations at Landbohojskolens Have.

To see traveler tips, other places to visit, reviews, and more tourist information, you can read our Copenhagen trip itinerary planner.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiport is Copenhagen Kastrup Airport. In June in Copenhagen, expect temperatures between 22°C during the day and 11°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
