Sasebo

With its U.S. Navy base, Sasebo has certainly developed pockets with an international feel: in downtown, often known as Sailor Town, you'll happen upon a number of eateries serving American-style hamburgers.
Explore Sasebo's surroundings by going to Nagasaki (Sōfuku-ji Temple, Glover Garden, &more) and Akaeza (in Arita-cho). Pack the 23rd (Tue) with family-friendly diversions at Huis Ten Bosch. There's much more to do: step off the mainland to explore Kujuku Island, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Yumihari, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Ohashikannonji.

Traveling from Naha in February, expect nights in Sasebo to be much colder, around 5°C, while days are a bit cooler, around 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Thu) to allow enough time to fly to Osaka.
