You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Budapest is known for historic sites, spas, and nightlife. Gyor

Győr is the most important city of northwest Hungary, the capital of Győr-Moson-Sopron County and Western Transdanubia region, and—halfway between Budapest and Vienna—situated on one of the important roads of Central Europe. Change things up with these side-trips from Gyor: Pannonhalma Archabbey (in Pannonhalma), Borvar Tata (in Tata) and Kemenes Vulkanpark (in Celldomolk). Balatonfüred is a popular resort town in Veszprém county, in Hungary, with a population of 13,000, situated on the northern shore of Lake Balaton. Explore Balatonfured's surroundings by going to Mezitkali - Footstools (in Mindszentkalla), Heviz (Thermal Lake of Heviz & Mary Magdalene church in Egregy) and Borostyan Fountain (in Bakonybel).
