Getting from Yamanouchi-machi to Nikko by car takes about 3.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of taxi and train; or do a combination of car and bus. Expect a daytime high around 24°C in May, and nighttime lows around 21°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Shirakawa.
