Tournai, known in Dutch as Doornik and historically as Dornick in English, is a Walloon municipality of Belgium, 85km southwest of Brussels on the river Scheldt. Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 and Plugstreet 14-18 Experience will appeal to museum buffs. Step off the beaten path and head to Spas & Wellness and Musee royal de Mariemont. Explore Tournai's surroundings by going to Eglise Saint-Gery - Monument classe (in Beloeil), Mons (Salle Saint-Georges, Hotel de ville, & more) and Pairi Daiza (in Brugelette). There's lots more to do: indulge your thirst for a good beer at Brasserie des Fagnes - Fabrication de Bieres Speciales, admire nature's wide array of creatures at La grange aux papillons, examine the collection at Musée d'Histoire naturelle & Vivarium, and learn about winemaking at Domaine Viticole du Chenoy.

For where to stay, photos, other places to visit, and tourist information, read Tournai trip builder website .

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major airports are Brussels Airport, Ostend-Bruges International Airport, Brussels South Charleroi Airport and Antwerp International Airport (Deurne). In May in Tournai, expect temperatures between 20°C during the day and 10°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Tue) so you can travel back home.
