Sheffield is a town 23 kilometres inland from Devonport on the north-west coast of Tasmania. Kick off your visit on the 1st (Sat): find something for the whole family at Tasmazia & The Village of Lower Crackpot and then don't miss a visit to Tasmania’s Town of Murals. On the 2nd (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take some stellar pictures from Alum Cliffs, then Head underground at Mole Creek Caves, then Head underground at Marakoopa Cave, and finally get a dose of the wild on Cradle Mountain Canyons.

Sydney to Sheffield is an approximately 6.5-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. Traveling from Sydney in May, things will get a bit cooler in Sheffield: highs are around 17°C and lows about 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Coles Bay.

Coles Bay

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Start off your visit on the 3rd (Mon): explore the wealth of natural beauty at Freycinet National Park. On the next day, make a trip to Mt Amos Climb, visit a coastal fixture at Cape Tourville Lighthouse, and then trek along Wineglass Bay Lookout.

Getting from Sheffield to Coles Bay by car takes about 3 hours. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Eaglehawk Neck.

Drive from Coles Bay to Eaglehawk Neck in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and bus. In May, plan for daily highs up to 17°C, and evening lows to 7°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Wed) so you can catch the flight back home.
