City of Azaleas

Situated in a basin between two mountain ranges, Taipei appeals to tourists with its blend of Asian cultures, living side by side amidst Japanese-era mansions and Taoist temples.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Taipei: Jinshan (Mysterious Coast & Jinshan Shuiwei Fishing Port), Ruifang (Shenao Elephant Trunk Rock, Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street), &more) and YehLiu Geopark (in Wanli). There's still lots to do: get engrossed in the history at National Palace Museum, take in the spiritual surroundings of Hsing Tian Kong, wander the streets of Ximending, and appreciate the history behind Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall.

To see ratings, more things to do, maps, and other tourist information, read our Taipei holiday maker site.

Expect a daytime high around 23°C in February, and nighttime lows around 16°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Wed) so you can travel back home.
