Ocracoke is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated town located at the southern end of Ocracoke Island, located entirely within Hyde County, North Carolina. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ocracoke: Lee Robinson's General Store (in Hatteras), Cape Hatteras Lighthouse (in Buxton) and Frisco Beach (in Frisco). There's lots more to do: stroll through Ocracoke Lifeguarded Beach, enjoy the sea views from Ocracoke Lighthouse, take in the waterfront at Avon Fishing Pier, and see the interesting displays at Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum.

To find maps, photos, reviews, and tourist information, you can read our Ocracoke driving holiday website .

In September in Ocracoke, expect temperatures between 82°F during the day and 70°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 5th (Thu) early enough to travel back home.
