5 days in Luxembourg City & Trier Itinerary

While Luxembourg City boasts the shiny headquarters of several European institutions and EU offices, it is also home to a beautiful old town that's designated as a World Heritage Site.

Do some cultural sightseeing at Vianden Castle and Palace of the Grand Dukes (Palais Grand-Ducal). Popular historic sites such as Notre Dame Cathedral (Cathedrale Notre Dame) and MNHM National Museum of Military History are in your itinerary. Go for a jaunt from Luxembourg City to Diekirch to see Eglise St. Laurent about 40 minutes away. Madrid, Spain to Luxembourg City is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also take a train; or drive. Traveling from Madrid in February, expect Luxembourg City to be a bit cooler, temps between 5°C and -1°C. You'll set off for Trier on the 12th (Fri).

You can drive from Luxembourg City to Trier in an hour. Other options are to take a shuttle; or take a train. Expect a daytime high around 5°C in February, and nighttime lows around 0°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
