La Baule-Escoublac, commonly referred to as La Baule, is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France.A century-old seaside resort in southern Brittany with beautiful villas, casino, luxury hotels and an original mix of old Breton and exclusive seaside culture with a 12 kilometer-long sand beach, La Baule has long been home to French high society's seaside residences. Change things up with these side-trips from La-Baule-Escoublac: Centre Historique de Vannes (in Vannes), Cote Sauvage (in Quiberon) and Carnac stones (in Carnac). Next up on the itinerary: learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Planete Sauvage, walk around Tropicarium Bonsai, head outdoors with Manege des Platanes, and wander the streets of Cite Medievale de Guerande.

To find ratings, photos, where to stay, and tourist information, you can read our La-Baule-Escoublac trip itinerary planner.

If you are flying in from Croatia, the closest major airports are Nantes Atlantique Airport, Rennes-Saint-Jacques Airport and Dinard-Pleurtuit-Saint-Malo Airport. In April, plan for daily highs up to 19°C, and evening lows to 7°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 15th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
