The Birthplace of Democracy

One of the world's most ancient cities, Athens remains Europe's undisputed historical and cultural capital.
Step off the beaten path and head to Erechtheion and Museum Herakleidon. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Athens: Lake Iraiou (in Corinth) and Loutraki (Limni Vouliagmeni & Moni Osiou Patapiou).
