The Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains

Nestled in the lush, wooded forests of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg is Tennessee’s premier mountain resort destination.
Get a sense of the local culture at Alcatraz East Crime Museum and Museum of the Cherokee Indian. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Sugarland Cellars and Hollywood Star Cars Museum. Take a break from Gatlinburg with a short trip to Mountain Farm Museum in Cherokee, about 54 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: see the interesting displays at Christ in the Smokies Museum & Gardens, sample the fine beverages at Sugarlands Distilling Company, identify plant and animal life at Roaring Fork, and learn about winemaking at Bootleggers Homemade Wine.

To find photos, reviews, where to stay, and tourist information, use the Gatlinburg trip planner.
