Way out west, the small city of Dwarka has a long history of pilgrimage, as a place central to Hindu mythology and belief.

Dwarka is known for historic sites, nature, and parks. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: don't miss a visit to Shree Dwarkadhish Temple, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Rukshamanee Mandir, walk around Gomti Ghat, and head off the coast to Beyt Dwarika.

New Delhi to Dwarka is an approximately 9-hour combination of flight and train. You can also drive; or take a train. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Thu) early enough to drive to Ahmedabad.

The state's commercial, if not political hub, Ahmedabad stands as a sprawling metropolis with some important historical sites.

Start off your visit on the 1st (Fri): examine the collection at Calico Museum of Textiles, then contemplate the long history of Sabarmati Ashram / Mahatma Gandhi's Home, then admire the striking features of Sidi Saeed Mosque, and finally take in the waterfront at Sabarmati Riverfront. Getting from Dwarka to Ahmedabad by car takes about 6.5 hours. Other options: fly; or take a train. Expect a daytime high around 34°C in December, and nighttime lows around 15°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sat) to allow time to travel back home.
