Capital of the Inca Empire for three centuries, World Heritage-listed Cusco is now a major tourist destination, drawing nearly 2 million annual tourists with its well-preserved colonial architecture and proximity to Machu Picchu.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Sun): steep yourself in history at Plaza de Armas, contemplate the long history of Sacsayhuaman, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cusco Cathedral. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 15th (Mon): trek along exploor, then admire the striking features of Centro Historico De Cusco, and then steep yourself in history at Qorikancha.

Sao Paulo, Brazil to Cusco is an approximately 11- hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or drive. The time zone changes from Brasilia Standard Time (BRT) to Peru Standard Time (PET), which is usually a -2 hour difference. Traveling from Sao Paulo in June, plan for much colder nights in Cusco, with lows around 1°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Mon) so you can travel to Machu Picchu.
