Colombia's heart and soul, Bogota has earned the nickname "Athens of South America" thanks to its abundance of universities, libraries, and lower-level schools.
On the 27th (Thu), tour the pleasant surroundings at Humedal de Cordoba and then let your taste buds guide you at a local gastronomic tour. Here are some ideas for day two: admire all the interesting features of Monserrate, explore the world behind art at Museo Botero del Banco de la Republica, then examine the collection at Gold Museum (Museo del Oro), and finally make a trip to Bolivar Square.

Kick off your visit on the 29th (Sat): head off the coast to Johnny Cay, look for all kinds of wild species at Caribe Extremo, then head off the coast to Cayo Bolivar, and finally head off the coast to Cayo Acuario. On your second day here, stroll through Playa Charquitos, enjoy the sand and surf at Playa de San Luis, then take in the dramatic natural features at Hoyo Soplador, then tour the pleasant surroundings at La Piscinita, and finally see the vivid underwater world at West View.
