5 days in Cartagena & Isla Baru Itinerary

The site of the continent's first Spanish colony, Cartagena retains much of its colonial flavor thanks to a World Heritage-listed old town, encircled by old walls and protected by imposing fortresses.

Start off your visit on the 29th (Thu): contemplate the long history of Sanctuary of Saint Peter Claver, get engrossed in the history at Museo del Oro Zenu, see the interesting displays at Museo Historico de Cartagena de Indias, take in the spiritual surroundings of Convent of Santa Cruz de la Popa, then explore the historical opulence of Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, and finally browse the different shops at Mall Plaza El Castillo. Keep things going the next day: see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour.
