A thousand years old, Brno offers a convenient urban base for exploring the southern section of Moravia, famed for its lush vineyards and natural caves.
Shop till you drop at Vinarstvi Paulus and Gallery U Halouzka. Spilberk Castle and Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul will appeal to history buffs. Get out of town with these interesting Brno side-trips: Kromeriz (Museum of Kromeriz & Kroměříž Archbishop's Palace), Zamek Lednice (in Lednice) and Telc (Church of St. James (Kostel sv. Jakuba) & Historic Centre of Telc). Next up on the itinerary: don't miss a visit to Villa Tugendhat, see the interesting displays at The Cottage of Max Svabinsky, view the masterpieces at Mestska Galerie Litomysl, and learn about winemaking at FILIBERK rodinne vinarstvi.

If you are flying in from India, the closest major airport is Brno-Tuřany Airport. In August, daily temperatures in Brno can reach 30°C, while at night they dip to 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel back home.
