Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Kick off your visit on the 30th (Wed): take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Nevis Range Mountain Resort, then get a new perspective on things with Cruise Loch Ness, and then steep yourself in history at Fort Augustus Abbey. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: explore the activities along Loch Linnhe Picnic Area, identify plant and animal life at Highland Titles Nature Reserve, then admire the verdant scenery at Glen Coe, and finally get engrossed in the history at Glencoe Folk Museum.
