Land of the Sky

Asheville nestles between two major mountain ranges in the scenic western section of North Carolina.
Visiting Cades Cove and Walker Sisters' Cabin will get you outdoors. Get some historical perspective at Noah Bud Ogle Cabin and Basilica of Saint Lawrence. Explore Asheville's surroundings by going to Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Roaring Fork & Little Greenbrier School), Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine (in Pigeon Forge) and Gatlinburg (Sugarlands Distilling Company, Tennessee Homemade Wines, &more). There's still lots to do: get a dose of the wild on Tumblestone Tours and Transportation, take in the local highlights with BREW-ed, take in the exciting artwork at Blue Spiral 1, and explore and take pictures at Blue Ridge Pkwy.

For reviews, photos, other places to visit, and other tourist information, you can read our Asheville visit planning tool.

Expect a daytime high around 70°F in October, and nighttime lows around 47°F.
