One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Do your shopping at Myeongdong Shopping Street and LINE Friends Flagship Store Myeongdong Station. Get outdoors at Bukhansan National Park and Muuido Island. Get out of town with these interesting Seoul side-trips: Korea National Arboretum (in Pocheon), Goyang (Ilsan Lake Park & One Mount Water Park) and Sammaksa Valley (in Anyang). Spend the 16th (Fri) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's lots more to do: make a trip to Insadong, steep yourself in history at Jongmyo Shrine, tour the pleasant surroundings at Cheonggyecheon Stream, and get great views at N Seoul Tower.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Do your shopping at Jagalchi Market and Shinsegae Gallery. Get in touch with nature at Haeundae Beach and Jangsan Mountain. There's much more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Gwangalli Beach, relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, take in the views from Gwangandaegyo Bridge, and stroll around Yongdusan Park.

Fly from Seoul to Busan in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or take a train; or drive. Expect a daytime high around 36°C in August, and nighttime lows around 27°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Thu) so you can go by car to Daegu.

Daegu

The fourth-largest city in South Korea, Daegu sprawls out across a wide, flat valley overlooked by a sacred Buddhist mountain.
Do your shopping at Seomun Market and Shinsegae Department Store Daegu. Step out of the city life by going to Daegu Arboretum and Suseongmot Lake. Venture out of the city with trips to Gyeongju (Seokguram & Bulguksa Temple). There's still lots to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Donghwasa, steep yourself in history at Bullodong Ancient Tomb Park, see the interesting displays at Sanghwa Yi's Old House, and explore the world behind art at Daegu Art Museum.
