A history spanning over a thousand years, vibrant nightlife, and a mix of Georgian and modern architecture make Dublin a popular European tourist destination.
Get out of town with these interesting Dublin side-trips: Howth Head (in Howth), Malahide Castle (in Malahide) and The Ark Play Centre at Puddenhill (in Garristown). Spend the 15th (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Spend the 17th (Wed) on the rails with a train tour. There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Kilmainham Gaol, make a trip to Temple Bar, get advice or help at The Book of Kells and the Old Library Exhibition, and take in the architecture and design of Trinity College Dublin.
