One of the highest cities in the world at 4,090 m (13,420 ft), Potosi actually rose to fame for something below the ground.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Casa Nacional de la Moneda and Santa Teresa Convent Museum - Convento Museo Santa Teresa.
