Get some cultural insight at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Seodaemun Prison History Hall. Step out of the city life by going to Bukhansan National Park and Achasan Mountain. Take a break from Seoul with a short trip to Bucheon Natural Ecological Park in Bucheon, about 42 minutes away. Pack the 17th (Fri) with family-friendly diversions at Lotte World. The fourth-largest city in South Korea, Daegu sprawls out across a wide, flat valley overlooked by a sacred Buddhist mountain.
Visit Haeinsa and Donghwasa for their historical value. Get some cultural insight at Hangae Maeul and Goryeong Daegaya Historic Site. Get out of town with these interesting Daegu side-trips: Daegaya Museum (in Goryeong-gun), Changnyeong-gun (Upo Wetland & Hwawangsan Mountain) and Hapcheon ImageThema Park (in Hapcheon-Gun). Spend the 19th (Sun) exploring nature at Deogyusan National Park. Spend the 24th (Fri) exploring nature at Gayasan National Park. The adventure continues: walk around Apsan Park, take a stroll through Bongsan Culture Street, don't miss a visit to Kim Gwangseok Street, and see the interesting displays at Daegu Safety Theme Park.

You can take a train from Seoul to Daegu in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or fly. In April in Daegu, expect temperatures between 24°C during the day and 10°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 1st (Fri) to allow time for the car ride to Busan.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Visit Bulguksa Temple and Surowangbi-reung for their historical value. Do your shopping at Busan Gamcheon Culture Village and Gallery Mare. Explore Busan's surroundings by going to Korea Naval Academy Museum (in Changwon), Geoje (Oedo Botania & Historic Park of Geoje POW Camp) and Ulsan (Ulsan Petroglyph Museum & Ulsan Theme Botanic Garden). There's much more to do: get outside with Gwangalli Beach, take an in-depth tour of Provisional Capital Memorial Hall, take in the exciting artwork at Jeonhyeoklim Art Museum, and trek along Mireuksan Mountain.

Traveling by car from Daegu to Busan takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. When traveling from Daegu in May, plan for slightly colder days in Busan, with highs around 28°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 16°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Mon) so you can travel to Tokyo.
