Known only for being the home of the Kompirasan Shrine Complex, the tiny town of Kotohira-cho remains a popular day trip destination from larger nearby cities.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Honjima Island and New Reoma World. Visiting Oboke Koboke and Goshikidai will get you outdoors. Change things up with these side-trips from Kotohira-cho: Unpenji Ropeway (in Kanonji), Miyoshi (Biwa Waterfall, Okuiya Niju Kazurabashi Bridge, & more) and Sanuki Manno Park (in Manno-cho).
