Vasteras

— 40 nights
Västerås is a city in central Sweden, located on the shore of Lake Mälaren in the province Västmanland, some 100km west of Stockholm. You've now added Visit Vasteras to your itinerary. Venture out of the city with trips to Norrkoping (Himmelstalund rock carvings, St Johannes Church, &more), Finspang (S:ta Maria kyrka, Finspang Castle, &more) and Kolmarden (Kolmården Zoo & Tropicarium). Pack the 1st (Thu) with family-friendly diversions at Boda Borg - Oxelosund. Spend the 28th (Wed) exploring nature at Garphyttans Nationalpark. There's lots more to do: explore the historical opulence of Orebro Castle, explore the activities along Nykopings Hamn, don't miss a visit to Vattentornet Svampen, and make a splash at Lost City - Gustavsvik.

For where to stay, other places to visit, maps, and tourist information, use the Vasteras road trip site.

If you are flying in from Japan, the closest major aiports are Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, Stockholm Västerås Airport, Stockholm-Bromma Airport and Stockholm Skavsta Airport. Expect a daytime high around 26°C in July, and nighttime lows around 13°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 31st (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
