Kagoshima sits across the bay from Sakurajima, an active volcano that serves as a symbol of the city and works its way into many aspects of life here.

Shop till you drop at Michi-no-Eki Iokaido and Iso Kogeikan. Appreciate the collections at Sora Stage and Nagashima Museum. Venture out of the city with trips to Miyakonojo (Miike Shrine, Takachihonomine, &more), Ebino (Ebino Kogen & Rokkannon Miike Pond) and Kirishima (The Hundred Year Sulfur Valley, Kareigawa Station, &more).
