The capital of the United States, the District of Columbia contains the lion's share of the country's most treasured monuments, memorials, and public museums.
Visit Gettysburg National Military Park and Little Round Top for their historical value. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Artworks and Art Museum of The Americas. Go for a jaunt from Washington DC to Lothian to see Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary about 42 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: get engrossed in the history at United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, browse the eclectic array of goods at Eastern Market, examine the collection at National Air and Space Museum, and admire the striking features of Riversdale House Museum.

For other places to visit, traveler tips, reviews, and other tourist information, refer to the Washington DC day trip site.

Greensboro to Washington DC is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. In June, plan for daily highs up to 86°F, and evening lows to 69°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
