Porch of Medina

The largest city on the western coast of Sumatra, Padang enjoys a reputation as one of Indonesia's cleanest and greenest cities despite its hub of residential and commercial activity.
Step out of the city life by going to Danau Diatas and Sarasah Gadut Waterfall. Relax by the water at Muaro Lasak Beach and Angso Duo Island. There's much more to do: head outdoors with Lubuk Nyarai, head off the coast to Mandeh Island, take in the waterfront at Teluk Bayur, and make a trip to Masjid Taqwa Muhammadiyah.

If you are flying in from Malaysia, the closest major aiport is Minangkabau International Airport. In September, daily temperatures in Padang can reach 35°C, while at night they dip to 26°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
